We have had another exciting week in P1/2! We started our week joining with the P1 class and met Izzy’s Dad, a police officer! He works in road traffic so we talked about being safe in the car and on the roads. We got to ask him lots of questions and he even showed us his uniform! 👮🏻♀️
This week in maths the P1’s have been learning the months of the year. We’ve been singing songs and making our own calendars noting our friends birthdays 🎂 📅 The P2’s have progressed their counting in twos knowledge and this week looked at the 2 times table! We have been looking at lots of 2’s like shoes, shoes and making our own pairs to remember the pattern.
However our most exciting adventure was most definitely our class trip to Pizza Express! 🍕 A huge thank you to Mia’s mum who offered us this amazing experience we all absolutely loved it! We started by getting a bus to Pizza Express (this part was also extremely exciting 😂) where the amazing staff gave us a day to remember. We washed our hands, kneaded our dough, spread the sauce and adding our toppings! They let us taste lots of ingredients and try new foods! We then took our pizzas back to P1/2 for a pizza picnic! Not only were the pizzas delicious, but P1/2 were absolutely amazing, asked some great questions to the chefs and made me very proud! They were a credit to themselves and Inshes Primary and have already asked me where we are going next! It really was a brilliant day!
Containing our pizza theme, our home corner was transformed into a pizza parlour where we took orders, made playdoh pizzas and wrote receipts! We also used the pizzas slices to create takeaway sums, and talked about half, whole and quarters! We all created menus (although you’d be bankrupt with some burgers costing £1,000,000!!!) and then wrote about our favourite part of our class trip in our jotters!
