The February break is upon us and we have lots to look back on this term so far, including STEM visits to UHI, an actual skeleton in our classrooms to inspire our writing, another fantastic P7 bake sale, tossing the haggis on Burns Day, learning and enjoying the outdoors from nursery to P7 and just this week the wonderful music workshop with the Benedetti foundation (see pictures below). Over the past few weeks we have had a whole school focus on mental health, including learning more about safer internet use. Our team of house and vice captains have led assemblies focusing on looking after ourselves, each other and the environment. Today is Random Act of Kindness Day and at assembly this morning Mr Scott told the story of the good Samaritan, linking to our theme of caring and looking after each other. Have a look at the Action for Happiness Calendar for Friendly February below.
When we return next week we have a bake sale to look forward to on Thursday and our first inter-house competition organised by our sports leaders on Friday! I’ll also share dates for the diary and more information about the term ahead in a letter home next week. Until then, we hope everyone enjoys the long weekend break. School is closed to pupils on Wednesday for staff training and re-opens to all on Thursday February 23rd. Happy weekend!
