Happy Friday P2/3,
Congratulations to Mason and Klaine for achieving ‘Writers of the Week’. This week’s ‘Mathematician of the Week’ is Jayden. Well done to Ania for achieving this week’s ‘Star of the Week’ award in assembly.
This week in Literacy/IDL we’ve been learning about Scottish Farming. In Phonics the P2’s learned the alternative oi sound- oy/toys and the P3’s learned how to add a prefix- un/happy and in/correct. In Grammar we have been reading texts and identifying inverted commas. In Writing we wrote questions about farming.
In Mental Maths we’ve been solving multiplication number problems. In Numeracy we’ve continued learning about fractions; the P2’s have been learning 1/2 and 1/4 and the P3’s have been learning 1/2, 1/4, 3/4, 1/3 and 2/3.
In Outdoor Learning we did a multiplication scavenger hunt. In Art we illustrated farm animals and began painting a landscape farm. This week’s makaton signs have been; farm, pig, cow, tractor and sheep.
Reminder- Our school trip to Druid Temple Farm has been postponed to Tuesday 18th April due to the current cold wintry snap.
