What’s been new at Inshes?

The past week has been busy, with lots of different learning through the school and a chance to enjoy the winter sunshine outdoors!

On Friday 3rd P3/4 and P4 gave their learning assembly on the Vikings and the Romans. We were very impressed by their range of knowledge, fantastic props and presentation at assembly. Well done all!

This week P4/5 and P5/6 enjoyed a visit to Inshes Church for the Easter workshops. Thank you to Mr Scott and the team at Inshes Church for preparing such a full and fun experience for the children.

We’ve had ongoing tennis coaching sessions, swimming, Feis Ros and Kodaly music. The Rights Respecting ambassadors are continuing to work together led by our house and vice captain team on priorities based on the views of children surveyed in all classes which are to:

  • fix and extend the adventure playground
  • have lunchtime clubs
  • grow more in our playground

There will be more information about this on display in school next week.

Congratulations to our team of P7s who took part in the Rotary Quiz on Tuesday evening and came a fantastic third place! Next week, a P6 team will take part in the EuroQuiz. Thank you to teachers Mrs Cunningham, Mrs McCloskey and Miss Murray for preparing the children for these events and to our parents for their ongoing support also.

On Friday 10th the P7 STEM Ambassadors and Arts Champs led assembly with information on next week’s Science Week and Comic Relief. There will be lots of activities across the school linked to these. We had a wonderful star performance also from some of our pupils to welcome everyone to assembly!

All pupils and staff are invited to come to school dressed in red for Comic Relief on Friday 17th – there will be a bucket for donations for Comic Relief.

We look forward to welcoming parents to school for our parents’ meetings on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th March and look forward to sharing more of the children’s learning with you then. If you have not booked an appointment yet for the meetings, please contact the school office first thing on Monday morning. Thank you!
