Wow what a week! 🐤 🌸 🍦
This week our phonics were ou and oi! We put ou words in a house 🏠 🐭 we used the magnetic letters to make words, practised spelling them and played a matching game!
In maths this week we looked at counting in 5s and the 5 times table.
Following on from the huge interest in maps last week, we looked at the world map 🗺 we looked at the continent’s and what animals might live there🐨 🐼
We all took part in try outs for the Bailey Cup running races, choosing to run the 60m, 120m or 400m! 🏃♂️
We talked a lot about spring this week, and what changes we might see. We noticed that flowers grow in spring so did an INCREDIBLE job of painting some daffodils. We first talked about what colours and shapes we saw, then sketched it out before carefully painting them. The finished pieces are utterly beautiful and are being proudly displayed 🌼 🖼 We then used up the daffodils in a tuff tray making spring time potions and went on a flower hunt around the garden 🌸 🧪
We also decorated Easter eggs using finger paint and decorated them with Easter stickers (thank you very much to a parent who donated these 💛).
We concluded our topic this week with a wonderful visit from my friend David who works at Meiles! David was fantastic, showing us a video of how gelato was made (he made it very clear it’s not ice cream!😂please ask at home if they can remember the name😂). He talked about being clean when serving food and the tools he used. 🍦
David also needed some taste testers so we played a fun game and each child got to try four different ice creams and try and guess the flavour. We had lots of fantastic guesses and thoroughly enjoyed tasting them all. A massive thank you once again to a local business coming in and helping us out with our wonderful topic! 🍦
I really appreciate all parents and local businesses who came in this term and made our topic so wonderful 💛💛
We ended this term with an Easter Egg Hunt outside where the Easter bunny had been! We each found an egg and a wee chocolate!
🌟 congratulations to our star of the days (last week) Harrison, Zac, Eldwyn, Phoebe and Jack!
And this weeks: Harris, Jessica, Maisie, Jackson and Mia 🌟
Have a wonderful Easter Holiday! 🐣🌼 as always please feel free to email or share your photos on here of your holidays as we love looking at them when we get back to class! 📸
