Happy Easter Holidays P2/3,
Congratulations to Dylan and Aleah for achieving ‘Writers of the Week’. This week’s ‘Mathematician of the Week’ is Amelia. Well done to Klaine for achieving this week’s ‘Star of the Week’ award in assembly.
This week in Mental Maths we’ve been counting forwards and backwards in 2’s, 3’s, 5’s and 10’s. In Numeracy we’ve been consolidating our addition, subtraction multiplication and division learning. This week in Literacy/IDL we’ve been learning about food chains/webs, producers, consumers, herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. In Writing we watched a short animated film about the Christian Easter Story. We then retold the events. In Phonics the P2’s have learned y as a vowel- cry/happy and the alternative ow/snow sound. The P3’s have revisited spilt digraphs- a-e/e-e/i-e/o-e/u-e and the igh/night sound.
In P.E we’ve been practising our ball bouncing/dribbling skills and took part in indoor hockey games. We also completed the Bailey Cup running trials. Today everyone took part in a fun Spring day, taking part in scavenger hunts, transient Art and Easter crafts.
