Week Beginning 2.5.23

Happy Coronation Weekend P2/3,

Congratulations to Kai and Klaine for achieving ‘Writers of the Week’. This week’s ‘Mathematician of the Week’ is Jacob. Well done to Zayn for achieving the ‘Star of the Week’ award.

Our new IDL topic is called Our Ancient World. This week we have been learning about The Royal Coronation. In writing we wrote a letter to King Charles. In Phonics the P2’s learned the split digraph o-e/broke sound. The P3’s learned about removing the magic e and +ing (slide/sliding).

In Mental Maths we have been counting in 3’s and solving x3 problems. In Numeracy we have been been learning about 2D and 3D shape names and properties.

On Friday we had a royal-tastic day celebrating the coronation by making crowns, flags and bunting. We also took part in a whole class royal picnic and infant party with the P1, P1/2, P3 and P3/4 classes.

Reminder-

  • Open Afternoons- P2/3 would like to invite the P2 families on Tuesday 16th May and the P3 families on Wednesday 17th May. Both open afternoons start at 1.40pm and finish at 2.30pm. Home time will be at the normal time of 2.45pm.

Have a wonderful long weekend. Mrs Meade
