It’s been a busy week but take a look at some of the things the children have been up too. Some of the skills they have been developing this week are:
> Gross motor skills outdoors: balancing with Mrs Fraser and check out one little dude dribbling his basketball! What talent we have in Inshes!
> Fine motor skills: threading thick thread through holes in wooden block: this really helps to enhance hand eye co-ordination and gets the children’s little finger muscles working which in turn prepares them for writing further on in their school journey!
> Imagination: both the Rainbow Room and the Sunshine Room have been engaging in small construction work this week, creating models from loose parts. Some of the children in the Rainbow Room created a Rainbow House and we talked about how it could be a really good base for some pirates! Ahoy matey!
> The Primary 6 buddies came down yesterday to visit their nursery buddies and spent some time with them in the nursery. Some of them played outside – continuing gross motor development, some did jigsaws – continuing numeracy development with positioning the pieces, some did drawings and some did playdoh work making castles, all continuing the ever so important fine motor skills.
> Look at the new hoover Sunshine Room got this week! It talks and walks!
