Happy Friday P2/3,
Thank you to everyone for sharing their family photographs this week. We have loved learning about everyone’s family history and browsing old and new photos.
Congratulations to Ania and Zayn for achieving ‘Writers of the Week’. This week’s ‘Mathematician of the Week’ is Hamish. Well done to Jaxson and Reid for achieving the ‘Star of the Week’ award.
This week in IDL Our Ancient World, we have been learning about our family history. In writing we wrote about our families. In Phonics the P2’s learned the igh sound (bright). The P3’s learned the i as an ie sound (wild). We’ve been practising our reading and spelling common words by playing tricky word bingo. In Grammar we have been learning about apostrophe’s and contractions (I am- I’m and I will- I’ll).
In Mental Maths we have been solving addition and subtraction worded problems. In Numeracy we have been learning how to read o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to time on analogue and digital clocks. The P3’s have been introduced to 5 minute intervals. On the chromebooks we played days of the week and months of the year games.
This week we have been singing and signing the makaton song- The Greatest Showman- This is me.
