Happy Friday P2/3,
Congratulations to Natalia, Zayn and Eve for achieving ‘Writers of the Week’. This week’s ‘Mathematician of the Week’ is Zain . Well done to Jamie for achieving the ‘Star of the Week’ award.
This week in IDL Our Ancient World, we have been learning about dinosaurs. In writing we wrote imaginative dinosaur stories. In outdoor learning we read dinosaur facts. In Phonics the P2’s learned the ew spelling for the ue sound (chew/statue). The P3’s learned the u spelling for the oo sound (push/took). In Grammar we have been learning about apostrophe’s and contractions (you will- you’ll and he will- he’ll).
In Mental Maths we have been solving subtraction problems mentally. In Numeracy we have been learning how to solve time worded problems. On the chromebooks we played multiplication (P2) and division (P3) games.
This week we have been singing and signing the makaton song- Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen.
Thank you families for volunteering on Dinosaur day. It was a fantastic day, lots of memories have been made. So many smiles and happy faces.
