Looking through my photos this week, I’m amazed at how much fun we can get into 5 days! This week’s video might be longer so I hope you enjoy it!
Monday seems so long ago when we got to set our bonny butterflies free! 🦋Eight in total hatched out of our nine cocoons. They were nervous to leave at first so they crawled on our hands before flying away. This was a lovely ‘tickley’ experience! We named them as they came out one by one – Bobs, Timmy, Tilly, Dilly, Billy, Silly, (I’ve forgotten one) and Johnny!
We got the most lovely surprise just before lunch when one of the children spotted the very last butterfly emerge from its pupa! We named them Summer and let them go free on Friday afternoon! Good luck out in the world 🌎 butterflies! 🦋
We learned about Orcas! We were fascinated to learn that they are large dolphins 🐬 and that they live in families called pods! We learned lots of facts and went outside using our biggest measuring tape to plot out the size of an adult male bull. We drew around the colossal 10 metre length and added its tail, pectoral and dorsal fin. We used one of the children to draw around to show just how tall their dorsal fins can be! We learned that Orcas are very happy in the wild where they get to live with their families for their whole lives – sometimes for up to 50 years! 🥰
In gym we got to have the wall apparatus and the crash mat out! This caused much excitement and the children were wonderfully patient for their group’s turn! We did lots of swinging, climbing, jumping and somersaulting! 🤸🏻♀️🤸🤸🏻♂️
We also practised our activities for Sports Day (which is this Thursday coming) in our House Team Groups. Again, the children were excellent listeners and followed the instructions wonderfully well! We are looking forward to Sports Day and hope to see you there!
On Thursday, the children came into a mystery! We found Dino 🦖 prints all down the corridor and lots of clues! On inspection 🧐 the class came to the conclusion that – A dinosaur had come through the Snug window! They had wanted to play and had accidentally knocked over a few things with their long tail! They then left a note at each classroom door 🚪 and went for a play inside!
We had a brilliant 🤩 Dino Day and visit to the park. The video will show that! 😎 Thank you to our parent helpers for joining us! It looks like it is going to be a stunningly sunny ☀️weekend so please enjoy yourselves!
