Happy Sunny Friday P2/3,
Congratulations to Jayden and Mason for achieving ‘Writers of the Week’. This week’s ‘Mathematician of the Week’ is Orla. Well done to Alise for achieving the ‘Star of the Week’ award.
This week in IDL Our Ancient World, we have been learning about the Romans. In writing we answered factual questions about the Romans and their inventions. In Grammar we have been continuing our learning about apostrophe’s and contractions. In Phonics the P2 learned three letter initial blends (str-spl-spr-scr) and the P3 learned the ue as the u spelling (unicorn).
In Mental Maths we have been partitioning numbers into thousands, hundreds, tens and ones. In Numeracy we have been learning about measurements; length cm/mm, weight g/kg and capacity mls.
This week we have been singing and signing the makaton song- A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman.
Next Week we will be holding an Inshes Has Talent audition in class. If you have a talent and would like to take part, please be ready to perform on Friday 23rd June. The winning two acts from P2/3 will go through to the whole school final! This will be taking place on the final week of school. You may like to perform as a group or individually. Ideas; musical instruments, gymnastics, football skills, singing and much more.
