Hello, I could not get my photos to upload this week 😔 so I’ve put them together into a wee movie. ☺️ Fingers crossed this works 🤞
Note- I’ve deleted the previous post as I could not get the photos to upload.
Even with only two days we can pack in lots of learning! In literacy, we were revising the s, a, t, i, p and n sounds and blending up to 3 letter words. P2s are revising blending with digraphs and tricky words.
We focused on friendship and what makes a good friend – we will continue on this theme next week. We also focused on playing and being safe and thoughtful in the classroom. We made superheroes of ourselves for our charter display. 💥
In numeracy, we had lots of fun thinking about numbers and using the number fans. Lots of the children wanted to take the fans home! Perhaps we can arrange this for home learning next term. ☺️ We are working on mathematical language and counting on from any number. This can be within 10 or within the hundreds and thousands. We have borrowed a new numeracy resource called “Cuisenaire rods” to help us explore number concepts. We had fun exploring them through play and will carry on using them throughout the year.
As our gym slots are now Tuesday and Thursday we didn’t have a gym session in the hall. We had lots of energy so did lots of active counting and dancing as well as having plenty of time outside. 🌳
Reminders – please remember to send in a water bottle each day for your child. Some children don’t let us know they don’t have one until quite late in the day and are therefore thirsty. We provide cups when we can but it is helpful to have a bottle for each child.
Please return your home learning pack as soon as possible so I am able to engage with it before the end of term. Thank you. 😀
Thanks for checking out our blog post. Have a lovely weekend. Miss Carson 😎
