This week, we have been busy learning and practicing our Nativity songs for our performances coming up.
This has led the children, along with the weather turning very cold and icy, to start talking about Christmas, Santa and his Elves.
Some experiences we have enjoyed this week are:
* Singing our songs – developing our listening and talking skills.
* Jigsaws – some have been number jigsaws, developing our numerical skills such as number identification.
* Outdoor play – enhancing our gross motor skills development. We had the big outdoor snakes and ladders game out during the week which we loves playing with. This supported our development in turn taking, listening, counting and number identification.
* Mark making – we have loved having different materials to mark make in such as flour and salt. We used paint brushes in the salt to make marks and one little superstar even wrote his name in it!
* Threading – we used string and cheerios to practice our threading skills. This helps our fine motor skills develop, in preparation for writing.
* We made some more bread for snack time too 🙂
