Family Visits 🥰Christmas Crafts 🎅 Learning Conversations 💬👂Nativity & Singing ⭐️🎶Gingerbread Houses 🍭✏️

Wowee what a busy week with lots of happy highlights! I’ve put the photos in 3 separate galleries to make upload easier so you’ll have to click each gallery to see the photos! 👀

◦ It was great to have our families in to visit on our Open Afternoons. Thank you for coming to make Christmas crafts and play with the children! We enjoyed having the youngest siblings join in too! I hope you all had a nice time in our class.

◦ Miss Carson has been sitting with each child to find out their best moments from P1/2 so far and discussing their next steps in literacy and numeracy. It’s been great to hear what they’ve been enjoying and it’s great to chat about how they are getting on.

◦ We had a visit from Eden Court and a workshop to attend.

◦ The nativity practice is coming along nicely! The children are becoming more confident in their roles and they have done brilliantly learning the words to the songs!

◦ The P2s met with the other P2s, P3s and P4s to practise their song for the church. They did a fantastic job! 🛷❄️

◦ This week in writing, we focused on the book, ‘Hansel and Gretel’ with the children drawing the most detailed gingerbread houses! They used marvellous descriptions and retold the story in their own words. This inspired our gingerbread biscuit houses that we had for open afternoon. These were very popular! 😋

◦ We learned about the Nativity Story and worked in pairs to put together the important parts of the story.

◦ The P2s learned some French colours and played a fun game to learn French vocabulary with Miss Page. 🇫🇷

◦ On Friday, Matthew from Highlife Highland and the P7 Sports Leaders organised a House Team Dodgeball Tournament. We competed for points for our House Teams.

Have a great weekend everyone! ☺️

P.S. I hope you are happy to have some of you in our open afternoon photos. When we look at our blog posts together with the children they liked spotting you. I am happy to take any down if you don’t wish them to be here on the blog. ☺️Just let me know! Thanks.
