Week beginning 22.01.24

This week we’ve been finishing off our outdoor learning research where we were trying to find answers to questions we’ve posed such as, ‘Why do the leaves change colour in different seasons?’ Pupils have had to learn researching skills including taking into consideration the trustworthiness and likely usefulness of a website from the many millions of search results that are produced. We’re looking forward to the groups sharing their findings over the coming weeks.

Our racket skills are coming along nicely too and we’ve been developing our flexibility and strength with different racket skills and learning to control the position and movement of the racket and beanbags – this will be balls as our skills develop further.

Our maths work on place value and understand the structure of our numbers has been going well. As always there has been some super discussion and lots of people making some interesting observations as we continue to put our pattern spotting skills to good use.

In writing we have just finished some work on descriptive writing which will stand us in good stead when we move into narrative writing in the next couple of weeks.
