P1/2 Highlights

Our highlights from this week:

◦ Learning double sounds and learning to write and read with them

◦ Telling the time – continuing our learning on analogue clocks. We have learned o’clock and half past. Some of the children have shown interest in the tiny numbers around the clock and have been having a go at times such as 5, 10 past!

◦ Making and being able to say the biggest numbers we can make in the number fans! Showing numbers before, after and between any given number!

◦ Getting new books to read in our reading groups.

◦ Drawing detailed illustrations from a fun book called ‘The Water Fight’ and learning to extend our sentences using joining words.

◦ Gymnastics 🤸Thank you to our P5/6 friends that helped us to put away the equipment!

◦ Playing in our garden 🪴 🌳

◦ Developing our confidence with talking about/sharing our work and play with the class

◦ Our P3/4 buddies teaching the P2s another maths game

◦ P7 buddies

◦ Library visit

◦A story called, “The Curious Caterpillar.” A great wee story that got us talking about how we might feel about changes. The children seemed to love the main character Cody and the different creatures they met. Each character had a different way of looking at Cody’s journey. 🐞🐛🪲🕷️

Our Stars of the Week were Elliot and Carrie! They received their certificates at the P1 – 4 assembly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well done to everyone for a great week. 😊
