P2 have had a magical day enjoying books!
We started with a common word hunt in the playground with P1 and P1/2.
Throughout the day, the bell would ring to signal “Drop Everything And Read”!
In the afternoon, the children were treated to a surprise – hot chocolate and biscuits whilst listening to an extract from their new class novel “The Bolds”, read by the author Julian Clary. This story is about a family of hyenas, living in disguise as humans! After being introduced to the story, the children learned how to draw a hyena in the style of the illustrator.
P2 thoroughly a embraced the “read and relax” theme for the day!
