The videos below give an explanation of something called precision teaching which is a short (30 second) activity that can be easily used at home. When used regularly it can make a big difference to children’s confidence and help with retention of new learning after it has been taught in school.
The first video is a brief explanation of what precision teaching is and some examples.
The next two videos show precision teaching in action. The first is a video related to numeracy and the second is related to literacy.
We hope you find these useful. We’ll share some other videos in the future of children using precision teaching for reading words, sentences and for other areas of maths.
Thanks to our two volunteers for sharing their learning. If you are happy for your child to be part of these videos, and haven’t already let us know, please check this post here for how to get involved.
