P2 have been learning all about Chinese New Year as part of our RME. We made some masks and found out how Chinese New Year is celebrated by many people in Scotland.
This week we also explored double letter word endings, such as “ss”, “ll”, “ff” and “zz”. We learned about the conjunction because and had a go at working out where it should be placed to link two sentences together.
In maths we learned our two times tables and used our money knowledge to help us calculate change.
We found out how the materials used to make toys has changed over the years. We then had a go at creating our own toy with help from our P6 friends.
We talked a lot this week about respect and how we can show respect to others. We completed an acrostic poem as a class and drew our own respect pictures to decorate our poem. Well done to the children who presented our poem to the other classes in assembly!
