What a beautiful week it has been. We have loved the sun and it has given us all a lift!
In phonics this week we introduced the sound z and zz.
For Drawing Club this week we have focused on the Magic Roundabout- Episode Bubbles. The children had to draw Zebedee and the roundabout on Day 1.On Day 2 they had to design their own bubble machine and mixture. Again they have wow’d us with their imaginations. We had bubbles coming out of trucks, magic bubbles that turn hard and bubbles coming out of hats and pizza!! The oral descriptions were great from everyone in the class.

We have also read the book Monkey Puzzle in class. Our writing was linked to this on Friday. The children had to choose one of the characters and describe it. On Wednesday the children made their own monkeys and binoculars. On Thursday we used them to go out on a scavenger hunt. After our scavenger hunt we made our own bubbles in the sun.

The children loved the sports activities organised by the Primary 7s today. They got the opportunity to take part in 2 out of 3 of the activities – Dodgeball, football and basketball.

In numeracy this week the concept of odd and even was introduced to the class. They had to make amounts on a tens frame and then we discussed if the number was odd or even. Does it have a partner? If it doesn’t have a partner it is odd. We also looked at grouping the children. Eg a group of 5. The children noticed that we could form 2 pairs and 1 person was left without a partner. partner. Therefore 5 is odd.
Have a good weekend! 😁
