Happy Friday P2 😊

What a fantastic start to the new term. Mrs Meade and Miss Mudie have been very impressed with the overall motivation to learn and the excitement with starting new topics.

In Phonics we have been learning new split digraph sounds a-e (game) and i-e (time) and spelling new words. In Writing we wrote a recount of our Easter holidays. In Literacy we have revisited previously taught common words, learned I’ll/I will and I’m/I am and have continued ongoing reading groups.

In Numeracy, Mrs Meade has begun introducing the concept of time and we have been focusing on days of the week and months of the week. Miss Mudie has been teaching estimating and rounding numbers. These areas of learning will continue to develop over the coming weeks. In Mental Maths we have been solving addition number problems.

In Science/IDL we have introduced the new topics ‘Life Cycles’ and ‘My Body’. In Art we continued with the life cycle theme, sketching daffodils and painting mirror image butterflies. Well done everyone, they look beautiful. We will now enjoy looking at these wonderful pieces of art work whilst displayed inside the classroom. In Health and Wellbeing we have been enjoying the beautiful weather outside and taking part in the baillie cup try outs. Well done everyone for trying your hardest with each and every running distance.

A final well done to P2 for earning the tidiest cloakroom of the week! We have mini Goldie joining us in class for the next week and the children got special stickers for all their effort. We are both so proud!

Date for the Diary-
We very much look forward to welcoming families to our P2 class assembly on Friday 16th May at 9.30am.

We wish you all a nice weekend with your families. See you on Monday. Mrs Meade and Miss Mudie
