Happy Friday 😊
We’ve had another fun action packed learning week in P2. It’s been lovely to get outside and enjoy the beautiful sunshine during P.E this week.
In Phonics we have been learning new split digraph sounds o-e (stone) and e-e (even) and spelling new words. We revisited oi/oy and oa/ow sounds. In Writing we described the stages of a frog’s life cycle. In Literacy we’ve been learning about nouns and pronouns and have been practising our common word spelling by playing tricky word bingo.
In Numeracy, Mrs Meade has revisited o’clock and half past time on analogue and digital clocks. We introduced reading and making 5 minute intervals on individual mini clocks. Can you ask an adult at home to help you read o’clock, half past and 5 minute interval time? Miss Mudie has continued teaching estimating and rounding numbers. In Mental Maths we have been doubling and halving numbers.
In Science/IDL we continued ‘Life Cycles’ and ‘My Body’. In Art we followed step by step instructions to illustrate a pop up frog and made frog paper plate puppets. What amazing artists we have in class. The artwork looks fantastic! In Health and Wellbeing we took part in team relay races outside during P.E. In French we have been learning body part names.
We wish you all a nice long weekend with your families. See you on Tuesday. Mrs Meade and Miss Mudie
