We are all set for our trip to the Highland Wildlife Park tomorrow. Please make sure your child has plenty of warm, waterproof clothes as the forecast tomorrow is cold and wet. They may also wish to take some extra snacks with them as we are planning on seeing as many animals as we can during our time there so there will be lots of walking involved. ❄️
In preparation for this trip we have been learning about different animals habitats and biomes, and those specific to Scotland. This will support our workshop ‘animal adaptations’ in the indoor classroom tomorrow.
Today we became wildcat experts and learned about the conservation work the Highland Wildlife Park have done these last few years to help bring wildcats away from the brink of extinction. Our mission tomorrow is to find out how many wildcats there are in the wild now. We learned about the features of wildcats and used this to draw one (see our lovely drawings below).
