Primary 1 had a visit from one of our wonderful parents this week! On Monday, David came to visit us and told us all about their job as a Police Officer. The children were very excited to ask them questions and try on some of their clothing and see the tools that they use! Some of the questions the children asked were:
What time do you go to work and when do you get home?
Where do you work?
Do you really drive through red lights?
How fast can your car go?

On Thursday afternoon, our own Head Cook, Susan came to talk to us about their job. Some of the children were so surprised to see them in our classroom! The children’s questions didn’t disappoint:
How do you cook all the food?
How many pizzas can you cook in one day?
What is your favourite meal?
What is your favourite pudding?

Throughout the week we have also been busy learning our phonics, and have learned our last single sound “x“. We have been word building and blending. In writing, we made up silly sentences with cvc words and either wrote the first sounds or the whole word by ourselves. We had lots of fun making up the silly sentences!
In numeracy, we were figuring out missing numbers on number lines. The numbers that went backwards were the tricky We have been using the Rekenreks to help us understand number and have played with it a lot this week to make numbers in different ways.
Next week, we are looking forward to another visit from a parent! We can’t wait to find out about their job!
Have a happy weekend everyone!
Miss C 🙂
