Our visit to the UHI was entitled Salmon and Aquaculture. The first activity we did was about the life cycle of salmon. Some dangers salmon face are otters, brown trout, acidification, dippers, herons, ospreys, grey seals, non native trees, dolphins, spawning exhaustion and animal waste in the water.
We also made fish food. It had to contain 80% pro fats, 15% flour and 5% oil. This was our favourite activity because it was hands on, and we got to mix it with our hands.
Some of us also liked the presentations we did in the afternoon. We had to make a sales pitch for our product. Gobble Gobble Fish had the best sales pitch. The highest price of food £1407.06 wasn’t chosen, although it was the healthiest.
