Happy Friday P2/3,

Congratulations to Reid and Eve for achieving ‘Writers of the Week’. This week’s ‘Mathematician of the Week’ is Mason. Well done to Orla for achieving the ‘Star of the Week’ award.

This week in IDL we have been learning about the Ancient Egyptians. In writing we wrote facts about Egypt, The Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. In Phonics the P2’s learned the split digraph e-e/delete sound. The P3’s learned how to add ed to words with split digraphs (move-moved).

In Mental Maths we have been using greater than, less than and equals than symbols to solve number problems. In Numeracy we have been been learning about angles (90° right angle, 180° and 360°) and (quarter turn, half turn and one whole turn).

This week we have been singing and signing the makaton song- What a Wonderful World. Can you sign the following actions at home; colours of the rainbow, a wonderful world, how are you?

We look forward to hopefully seeing families next week at our open afternoons. Both open afternoons start at 1.40pm and finish at 2.30pm. Home time will be at the normal time of 2.45pm.

  • P2 families on Tuesday 16th May.
  • P3 families on Wednesday 17th May.

Home Learning Reminder- In a named envelope please bring in family photographs of your family by Wednesday 17th May. Ask an adult to write about your family history on the back of each photograph or inside your home learning book. We will be writing about our family history in Week 7.

Wishing you all a nice weekend with your families. Mrs Meade
