Happy Friday P2/3,
Thank you to everyone who attended this week’s open afternoons. The children very much enjoyed sharing their learning and classroom with you all.
Congratulations to Jaxson and Hamish for achieving ‘Writers of the Week’. This week’s ‘Mathematician of the Week’ is Eddie. Well done to Emily and Thomas for achieving the ‘Star of the Week’ award.
This week in IDL we have continued learning about the Ancient Egyptians. In writing we wrote facts about King Tutankhamun. In Phonics the P2’s learned the split digraph u-e/flute sound. The P3’s learned the zh as a sound (measure/casual). In grammar we have been reading and spelling conjunction words within sentences.
In Mental Maths we have been doubling and halving numbers. In Numeracy we have been learning about symmetry; finding and counting the lines of symmetry in 2D shapes and patterns. On the chromebooks we played symmetry and multiplication games. This week we have been singing and signing the makaton song- I can’t stop this feeling.
Home Learning Reminder- Many thanks to everyone who has returned their home learning. We will be browsing all your family history photographs next week. If you have not already done so please bring them in on Monday.
