We’ve had a particularly busy week in P1 this week. We started our week by introducing the sound j. On Monday afternoon we practised our measuring skills and ability to follow instructions to be able to make jjjjj jelly. On Tuesday afternoon we had a ‘Jelly and Juice’ party! Later in the week we introduced the sound z.

On Wednesday we welcomed our first visitor into our class to kick start our topic.. ‘Jobs in the Community’. Bradleys Dad joined us to share with us more information about his job as a Police dog handler. The children asked amazing questions and loved watching PC Brown demonstrate the police dogs in action. The kids were amazed at how the police dog could use his nose to find the key hidden in the playground. They also loved seeing the police car and hearing the different sirens. We now have lots of budding police officers in class!! It’s been lovely to observe their play!🥰

On Thursday we joined with P1/2 and P2 for a Scottish themed morning. We learnt the Scottish version of head, shoulders, knees and toes and took part in some Scottish dancing. We finished the morning off by sampling some famous Scottish goodies… shortbread, tablet and porridge!!
Have a great weekend. See you all on Monday 🙂🙂

Thank you for organising so many fun activities this week. Hunter told me he loves school! ❤️
