Happy Sunny Friday P2 😊
On Wednesday we had some very special visitors joining us in class… Tadpoles. Thank you to Lydia for sharing them with us. We loved seeing them and we look forward to hopefully seeing more when we go pond dipping on our school trip.

In Phonics we have been learning a new split digraph sound u-e (flute) and y as a vowel (sky). We revisited the igh (night), i-e (time) and initial blend sounds (fl in flume). In Writing we retold the story of Funny Bones, linking with our topic Our Body in Science. In Literacy we’ve been reading and spelling common words- my, new, no, come, are, for, had, him, his and revisited- he, she, me, we, be, thorough spelling games.
In Numeracy, Mrs Meade has been consolidating our learning of o’clock and half past time on digital clocks. We were introduced to writing digital time. Can you ask an adult at home to help you read o’clock and half past time on a digital clock? Miss Mudie has also consolidated the teaching of estimating and rounding numbers. In Mental Maths we have been counting forwards and backwards in 2s, 5s and 10s.
In Science/IDL we have been learning about the life cycle of humans and focusing on vocabulary linked with my body. In Health and Wellbeing we began practising for our upcoming sports day with the P2 pupils from the P2/3 class.
All children in P2 will be sharing their learning with families during the upcoming P2 class assembly. Mrs Meade and Miss Mudie asked the class if anyone would like a small talking part. The children who would like to talk in front of the audience will be reading a short description together with another P2 pupil. Please practise these at home with an adult. Many thanks.
